The man who murdered Beatles star Mark David Chapman is up for parole for the sixth time. Plus, sad news, Raiders' Jack Tatum dies!
CNN is reporting that the man who murdered Beatles star John Lennon on December 8, 1980, is set to face the parole board during the week of August 9. John Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, continues to oppose Mr. Chapmanās release, and she has again sent a letter to the parole board, her lawyer said.
Mark David Chapman's upcoming parole board interview will be his sixth bid, after he was sentenced to 20 years to life imprisonment. Champan killed Lennon outside his home in New York City. CNN adds that Chapman's last bid was denied by NY State division of Parole "due to concern for the public safety and welfare."
Meanwhile, fans of Oakland Raiders mourn today after Jack Tatum died of heart attack at the age of 61.
According to NBC Sports, Tatum's former Ohio state teammate John Hicks revealed that Tatum had diabetes the past several years, and had lost his left leg because of circulation problems.
