Article by: Joan LeeVerizon iPhone is Apple's last card to get rid of Android phones? A new analysis claims Apple's iPhone has a big Android-problem. What's the main reason? Well, iPhone's current one-carrier status.
If you're not living in the US, maybe you're still not aware that the cool Apple phone is still not available in other wireless carriers, except AT&T, which is kinda messy if you really hate AT&T's services (and signal).
Barron's Tech Trader Daily further analyzed the Bernstein Research analysts Toni Sacconagh and Pierre Ferragu's analysis that "time has come for Apple to do something about it."
What's "it"? Well, the current strong sales climb (and popularity) of Android phones.
The analysts added that Apple's exclusive deals in some countries, where their golden smartphone is only available in one carrier, blocks more sales potential. And they mean millions of sales potential!
Imagine, an estimate of 53 million Android phone units are expected to ship this year? Clock says tic-toc!
With non-stop rumors that Verizon might sell iPhone 4/3G this year, more and more people think Apple needs Verizon to continue the smartphone lead.
