Article by: Joan LeeSo Google reportedly simplified its privacy policy. But the consumer watchdog is campaigning against them, and their anti-G video advertisement is on Times Square until next month.
According to reports, the search giant behind the services like Gmail, Google Voice, Picasa, Blogger etc, is set to simplify its privacy policy. I hope Facebook will follow suit (still not satisfied with the social network's revised one).
According to PC Mag, Google will be revising its privacy policy, effective Oct. 3. But Google "is not making any material changes to its policy, but is removing redundant sections, and launching a new privacy tools page."
The move is most likely related to the recent report that the search engine giant will pay out $8.5M over their Buzz service lawsuit. Google is set to pay a minimum of $2,500 to every individual users that filed lawsuit against their Twitter-like service Buzz, which was launched last February.
But the "problem" of the Goog is still not over, a consumer watchdog -- campaigning against them, has launched a video campaign running ads in New York's Times Square blasting CEO Eric Schmidt on the company's privacy issues. Like it? Sorry, I'm not impressed. Facebook's privacy policy is even more creepier than Google if you ask me.
Funny thing, the video is now available on Youtube, Google's video service. Check it out below:
